Dedicated
to the memory of Dee Dee,
This is a place to help animals with special needs find forever homes. Check this page for featured animals. Then see our Post-a-Pet, Post-a-Home page to post an available home or pet, or see who needs a forever home. If you need to relinquish a pet, please don't take him or her to a "kill" shelter. Try to find a good home on your own. Click here to find out what happened to one adoptable pet... If you do place a pet or adopt a pet from this website, please email me and let me know. If this website can help even one pet in Dee Dee's memory, I will be happy. Let me know if I can post your story on a upcoming Forever Homes page.
Chopin's Mom is moving away from her Baltimore Maryland home to a place that doesn't want dogs. So sweet and gentle Chopin, a 2-year-old creamy white unaltered male dog, needs a home before December 1, 2002.
Linda writes: I'm moving to a home that I can't take Chopin with me this time. Chopin's mother was a white and black Shepherd and Husky. The dad dog was either a Doberman or Rott. Chopin is Cream White with touches of tan on his back. He loves children and the outdoors and loves to play ball. Chopin is not good with cats -- at all! He is great guard dog but very even tempered with people. He'd go off with anyone that he felt wasn't mean spirited. The kids all come by and feed and play with him. He has a dog house and I feed him Science Diet Dog food. It's the best for him. Chopin does come inside the house BUT he loves the outdoors. He is a medium size strong dog and isn't an apartment dog. He needs plenty of room to roam.
Chopin has his 3 year rabies shot but doesn't have his other shots. Chopin is a miracle dog. He had parvo and through much prayer, he survived beyond the belief of the Vet. This is why I want to find him a special home with special people. I truly don't want to take him to the animal shelter. I want to know who has my puppy dog. So I need to find a home for him before December 1, 2002. If not, I'll have to take him to the shelter on November 29, 2002 if not before that. If you are interested in having Chopin, please contact me through e-mail JCsLindy@aol.com. Thanks!
My Arab is about 14hh bay gelding. He's got some arthritis. He needs the vet to come out and do some injections into his hocks. I've been putting some DMSO on his hocks and it seems to be helping a little. (I've only been putting it on for about week.) He was green broke, but then neglected for 2 years--then I rescued him and have been doing very light trail riding. I would be more than willing to complete his training to whatever level you need for a very reasonable price. He is very sweet and curious. He loves being scratched behind the ears. It takes a bit for him to trust you, but he learns very fast. He's an extremely easy keeper. I feel really bad about selling him, I think he'll make a wonderful trail horse. I just can't pay for his medical needs right now.
I'm not sure what the cost of his after care (if any) would be. I'm not sure how much better he will get after the treatment. I don't know if he will be light riding only or become a full time competing horse. I can't put any more money into him because I have two other horses. His price is $400 o.b.o. I'd be willing to come down on the price to the right home. If training or boarding is a problem let me know and we'll see what we can work out. Thanx a lot, hope he's what your looking for! Muffin (short for Ragamuffin) is a gray Shih Tzu and about six-years old. She needs a home with someone who has the finances and time to keep drops in her eyes, and keep her professionally groomed on a regular schedule. Her eyes were damaged by a bad haircut that poked and scratched them, but the vet said they may heal if she is given regular grooming and eye drops. Muffin ended up in a shelter and was placed in a home. The owner couldn't keep her, and gave her to a friend. The friend had children, and Muffin's manners when taking food from small fingers need improvement. The friend also had a big dog that picked on Muffin. I found Muffin sitting patiently in an animal shelter, and she told me to bring her home. However, my finances will not allow me to keep her forever and give her the care that she needs. She has all her current shots. She needs her teeth cleaned, and regular eye drops. She does not like having the hair around her eyes cut, and I suspect someone has poked her. She will need a patient professional groomer to do this for her.
She is very friendly, affectionate, loving and sweet. She is great with other dogs, cats and so far all animals she has encountered. (However, I think she would be happiest in a home without large aggressive dogs.) She is housebroken. She will gladly sleep at your feet and keep them warm. She wants to be your baby, and sleep on your couch or bed. She snores very softly, and it's kind of cute. She wants to love you with all her heart. Can you help Muffin? Can you love Muffin? She needs someone who really needs her. (Located in the Mojave Desert in California.) Email Corri at: rescue@hopeweb99.com
These two have had several names while they have been here (Sonny and Cher, Captain and Tenille, Duke and Duchess). We finally settled on King and Lady because they are so regal.
ADOPTED AND HAPPY!!!! .
Dokken is a purebred male boxer in east Texas who needs a new home . Dokken was imported from Witherford Kennel in England. As you can see by the inquisitive look in his picture, Buster is intelligent and active. He needs a home with room to run and play, and someone to love. With a heavy heart, Mary Ann is closing her kennel as her family is raising livestock now, and the dogs don't mix well with the goats. Therefore, also available are Dokken's son Buster (fawn colored), Ashley (brindle, to be spayed), and two females out of Marbelton and Witherford kennels breeding: the lovely fawn and white Tia, and brindle and white Del. Their ears are uncut, natural and beautiful. Another breed available is Iziban Hound. Mary Ann's two Ibizan Hounds are litter sisters out of Champion Pharaoh by Champion Skyelarke's Zhari of Cinondra. They were born 5-18-97. Neither is fixed, and they have not had pups. Although the girls did not like to be shown, they may do well at lure coursing. Mary Ann also wishes to find a good home for her standard poodle. For more details, see the posting on the Post-A-Pet--Post-a-Home page, or contact Mary Ann at toknhart@hou.quik.com.

"There are things in life we can change,
and things in life we cannot change.
When we learn to tell the difference,
we suffer a lot less." -- Dr. Laura Schlessinger.
We can't bring Dee Dee back.
Maybe we can help others at least a little.
