I grew up with horses, and then went off to the big city to make my living in the computer industry. As a software quality control supervisor, I worked with customers and wrote technical software manuals. I loved my work, but missed horses terribly.  

Then, a few years ago, I met a miniature horse mare and foal at the Baby Animal Petting Zoo near San Jose, California. Love at first sight! In a drizzle of rain, I petted and talked with that mom and baby. In fact, I kept leaving my group to sneak back to these mini horses. My friends had to literally drag me away from that mare and foal.  That was my first meeting with mini horses. That day started a dream.

In March of 1998, I left the "big city" of Orange County and returned to the land I was born, Ridgecrest, California.  After 17 years of renters, the old homestead didn't look like my childhood memories. The renters had cut down at least 80 trees and removed all the barns and corrals. They left trash everywhere. Needless to say, I had much work to do getting the place shipshape....I still have a lot to do!

These pages tell you about my ranch and my miniature horses. 

I am hoping to build this place back to what it used to be and make the animals here available to kids with special needs. With all the love mini horses have to share, I believe they can touch kids in a special way. I believe driving with the little horses may be easier for some than riding the big horses.

Besides coming back to the "ranch", I also began working to earn a teaching credential. I am pleased and excited to have earned the credential. I now work with kids who are learning English as a second language, and I love it.
