enjoying the softest yarn

the color is always true
giving old and familiar feelings
even though it's no longer new

Your favorite sweater 
suits you well
until with some alarm
you realize you left it somewhere
and your conscience did not warn

I am that cast off sweater now
left behind again
waiting in 
the lost and found
for you to come reclaim

Your newest sweater
doesn't fit you well
it's tight and itchy too
and will you wish you had the old
when you no longer have the new?
