Bo the Border Collie Says,
"Health Certificates?"

Border Collie Health Issues and Healthcare

Part of researching a breed is knowing about possible health problems. Some of these include hip displasia (HD), progressive retinal atrophy (PRA) and collie eye anomaly (CEA).

If you are adopting a rescue dog, the background is unknown and you will be loving the dog you get. But if you are buying a puppy, save your self some heartbreak. Ask for health certificates and make sure the grandparents have been certified HD and CEA free. Please! Never breed a dog that is a carrier of these genetic diseases.

This page lists some information on border collie health concerns and general healthcare tips.  Each link below opens in a new window. Just close the window to return to my page.  If you know of any information pages I should add to this list, email me care of my Mum.
